The 50-State Survye helps attorneys find an in-depth analysis of state statutory and common law protections of trade secrets and other confidential information. These titles provide a detailed review of law examining the definition and other issues critical of trade secret litigation in each state; in-depth guidance on exemption from disclosure under state and federal Freedom of Information Acts and on the issuance of protective orders in the litigation context; and explanation of the policy considerations underlying case and statutory law developments. Further, these surveys outline specific types of evidence that have secured or doomed protection for trade secrets. This guide provides detailed guidance on obtaining injunctive relief, damages, and attorney's fees. This source provides both state statutes and case law along with comparisons to federal statutes. 

The State-by-State Survey series is a one-stop shop for practitioners of trade secret law. The works are specifically drafted to provide all the necessary context a practitioner needs to work in the field. The Chastek Library Currently holds hard copies of the series. Our earliest volume is from 2006, and our current volume is from 2019. While the 2019 series supersedes the previous editions, researchers interested in the changes in trade secret law over the years may find this an invaluable resource.
