A law student can effectively use Lexis+ AI to Brief/Summarize a case for class. All you need is the case name with citation and follow these instructions:

Log onto Lexis+ and Click the link to Lexis+. From there, click the AI Assistant in the top left corner.

From there, click the link to Summarize a case.

For this example, let's brief the landmark civil procedure case Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714 (1878). 

From there, enter Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714.

You will then receive a summary of the case. It will list the following for the case

  • Procedural Posture

  • Overview

  • Outcome

  • Content supporting AI-Generated Response - A link to the actual case
