Sharalyn Williams, M.L.S.
Sharalyn Williams has a Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies, and received her Master in Library Science from Emporia State University with a concentration in Archives Studies and was awarded Beta Phi Mu Honors. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Organizational Leadership program at Gonzaga University with a focus on Change Leadership and was awarded Alpha Sigma Nu Honors. She has an expected graduation date of August 2021. She has previously interned at the Clark County Historical Museum, Portland Community College - Sylvania, and the Washington Rural Heritage Project at the Washington State Library. In her role at the Heritage Project, she worked on and digitized the Odessa, Washington and Joshua Elmer Photograph Collection. Sharalyn oversaw management of the ITT Technical Institute library in Portland, Oregon beginning in 2014, until its closure in 2016, and was the Circulation Assistant at Spokane Community College until being hired at Chastek Library in 2017.
Sharalyn was an active volunteer for the National History Days competition until 2016; a cataloging volunteer at the Independent Resource Publishing Center in Portland, Oregon; a Bite2Go SnackPack representative for Gonzaga University at Whitman Elementary School from 2018 - 2019; and was most recently a vaccine clinic volunteer at the local Chas Health vaccine popup at Gonzaga University.
Sharalyn is the Public Services Librarian. In this position, she provides reference and research assistance; teaches in-class workshops on library resources; designs, implements, and evaluates all Chastek Library programming; and manages the circulation department including scheduling of the reference desk. She hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates a diverse community of undergraduate and post-graduate student employees at the circulation desk.
